Can I play the harmonica online for free?
Yes. Cyber Harp runs entirely in your browser — open the song library, pick a track and start playing. There is no download, no account required to play, and no paywall on the songs.
Is this a virtual harmonica, or do I need a real one?
Both work. Play a real diatonic or chromatic harmonica into your microphone and Cyber Harp detects every note you hit in real time. No harmonica yet? Switch to keyboard input and the browser acts as a virtual harmonica so you can learn the tabs first.
How does the harmonica simulator know which note I played?
The microphone stream is pitch-tracked live and each detected frequency is mapped back to a hole and a blow or draw direction. You get instant visual and audio feedback on every note, the same way a tuner would, but scored like a rhythm game.
Which harmonica do I need to play the songs?
A standard 10-hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C covers most of the library. Chromatic harmonica is supported too, and every song page shows the key and the tab before you start.
Do I need to read sheet music?
No. Songs are shown as harmonica tabs — a hole number plus a blow or draw arrow — scrolling in time with the music, so you play by following the notes rather than by reading a score.
